Rated as 10 star divine card, the Obelisk the Tormentor is a very good find for any Yu-Gi-Oh! card collector and dueler. Depicted as one of the three strongest cards in the manga (Japanese comics) and anime versions, this card is limited in production and is a rare find in any Yu-Gi-Oh! trading card shops.
With a fierce persona in the cartoon, the Obelisk the Tormentor is described in the actual card that its descent shall be heralded by burning winds and twisted land. Together with Slifer the Sky Dragon and the Winged Dragon of Ra, they form the reputed Egyptian God Cards.
As popularized, Yu-Gi-Oh! Obelisk the Tormentor was used by main protagonist Yugi Mutou as decoy for his signature cards to defeat and free the Egyptian card seeker Marik in the finals tournament. It further appeared in the trading card television franchise during season four to battle Leviathan and in the manga to destroy Bakura's Diabound to greatly garner more card admirers to have this card.
The only downside of having the Obelisk the Tormentor is that this card is not allowed to be used in any official duels and tournaments. With an attack and defense score of 4000, the Obelisk can easily finish off the opponent by targetting its life points directly. Anime and manga's Seto Kaiba used this Obelisk the Tormentor effect to defeat multitude of opponents during the course of his play in the tournament before handing out the card to Yugi in the semi-finals.
Another amazing feat for this card is that it can actually have infinite attack points for a single turn if a tribute of two monsters is done. The only card not to be affected of this feat, according to the manga, is the Winged Dragon of Ra which is higher of all the three God cards. But still, having this effect, the Obelisk the Tormentor can shook up any opponent and defeat them at the end.
The Obelisk is not readily available in any power decks sold. It has to be scoured in shops and if lucky enough one cand find the ultrarare holofoil version.
