Like any show one watches, there usually are things that one will like or dislike, and this divide grows depending on if you are a boy or a girl. One of the most memorable characters in the manga (Japanese comics) turned anime and trading card game Yu-Gi-Oh!, is the Black Magician Girl. The counterpart of the Dark Magician, it is also a spellcaster and effect type of card with a six star rating for its strength.
Also known as the Black Dark Magician Girl through different translations of the original Japanese cards, it offers a 2000 attack and a 1700 defense. A bit weaker than the Dark Magician, the card in turn increases its attack by 300 for every Dark Magician or Magician of Black Chaos in either player's graveyard.
Found in most common decks sold, the Yu-Gi-Oh Black Magician Girl is basically a recognizable part of Yugi Yami's deck in the anime. This card is included in the first edition to be produced after the manga and the television series became a hit.
The manga and the anime showed the use of the Black Magician girl during the Battle Arc that led to the fame of this card. It is one of the few select cards that had its history told in both story media: comics and television. The card has also been presented in movies and is a big part of the trading card video game franchises.
The Black Magician Girl is Mana, formerly the apprentice of the priest turned Dark Magician, Mahado who let him be killed by Bakura so his spirit can be a card. After her spirit turned into a card, the Magician Girl had its hair changed from dark to blonde. Her personality also changed to a bubbly to a tacit one. In her former life, Mana is a good friend to Pharaoh Yami.
Following the Yugi's deck in real life duels, a duelist should always include the Black Magician girl as Yugi's deck is full of Dark Magicians and Magician of Black Chaos evolutions. The additional effect of the Black Magician Girl will further boosts the dark deck one wants to have.
